NWAESC(2095)-Personal Care Certification | Nurses & Paraprofessionals
This Personal Care training serves as the required practical component (10 hours of the required 40 hours) for paraprofessionals to become certified, allowing districts to bill Medicaid for Personal Care services. The training covers the certification process and provides a comprehensive overview of Personal Care billing requirements, processes, and documentation. It is recommended that any RN responsible for writing care plans and supervising paraprofessionals who assist students with physical dependency needs attend this training. The session is also beneficial for staff overseeing Medicaid billing, as well as LEA supervisors and administrators who need working knowledge of Personal Care services. Current billable Personal Care services include mobility, ambulation, hygiene, bathing, bladder and bowel needs, eating, and dressing.
