This training fulfills the Arkansas Mentor Teacher Training requirement.
Student growth is dependent on teacher growth, and mentors, instructional coaches and instructional leaders work together to personalize their support for every teacher. Based on John Wink's book, "A Teacher's Guide to Excellence in Every Classroom" participants will learn how to help all teachers grow in both their knowledge and competence of the Hierarchy of Instructional Excellence through mentoring and leadership strategies that include the following steps:
Identify each teacher's present level of proficiency based on the Hierarchy of Instructional Excellence.
Create an Individualized Excellence Plan focused on growth in one specific level within the Hierarchy.
Use the coaching feedback protocols to help teachers move forward in their growth.
Develop strong relationships between principals and/or coaches that provide consistency and alignment in both responses and support for teachers.
