NEA – Phenomenal Teaching: Unleashing Wonder in the Science Classroom

Enhance student engagement and understanding through phenomena-based instruction. This workshop will focus on how using real-world phenomena as the foundation for lessons promotes curiosity, encourages student-driven questioning, and supports authentic sensemaking. Participants will learn strategies for connecting Science and Engineering Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Disciplinary Core Ideas in ways that help students apply science concepts in meaningful contexts rather than memorizing them in isolation. By the end of the session, you will have practical approaches to make science instruction more relevant and impactful for your students.
