DSC Phenomenal Science at MidAmerica Science Museum!

Enhance student engagement and understanding through phenomena-based instruction. This workshop will focus on how using real-world phenomena as seen in museum exhibits for lessons that promote curiosity, encourages student-driven questioning, and supports authentic sensemaking. Participants will learn strategies for connecting Science and Engineering Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Disciplinary Core Ideas in ways that help students apply science concepts in meaningful contexts rather than memorizing them in isolation. We will see a Show in the Digital Dome Theater and explore dinosaurs and light in the museum. By the end of the session, you will have practical approaches to make science instruction more relevant and impactful for your students with a MidAmerica Science Teachers Guide!
