DSC Intentional Planning for Meaningful Access (IPMA)

Intentional Planning for Meaningful Access (IPMA) is a high-quality professional learning experience designed to support the implementation of effective planning practices to serve English learners in all instructional contexts. Participants will engage in interactive learning to support standards-based planning that integrates content and language and supports every student’s access to grade-level learning. IPMA provides educators with an evidence-based foundation to make academic language explicit and accessible while maintaining rigorous content learning expectations. Participants will apply effective design principles to amplify language in content area instruction and will explore scaffolding and structured academic language production. Participants will need to bring, or be able to access, a lesson or task from any content area or grade level HQIM to use during the training day.
Presenter is Jennifer Johnson from Education Northwest.
