Based on the work of Emily Reed Daniels, The Regulated Classroom provides educators with an evidence-based framework that enables co-regulation between teachers and students. It does this by helping educators understand the why of the 4 Core Practices. The 4 Core Practices represent the quality of developmental experiences that buffer stress and trauma and support sequential growth and development. Simply put, they are 1-3 minute micro-moments of classwide co-regulation that reset everyone.
Objectives:
- Introduce Polyvagal Theory and learn how the central nervous system affects regulation in the classroom.
- Learn the four core practices and two essential educator competencies
- Be able to identify when and how to use the four core practices to co-regulate within the classroom.
