AFESC-Checking for Understanding: Are They Getting It?

Do you need practical, easy-to-use strategies that help you know—in the moment—whether your students truly understand what you’re teaching? In this session educators will explore eight powerful techniques that move beyond asking “Does everyone get it?” to gathering real evidence of learning from every student in the room. This interactive session introduces tools such as targeted questioning, active monitoring, show-me techniques, and more that can be immediately applied in any classroom. Participants will leave with simple, intentional ways to check for understanding throughout a lesson, catch misconceptions early, and adjust instruction so more students reach mastery. For clearer insight into student thinking and strategies you can use tomorrow, come join us for this day of learning.
