Magnolia-From Words to Understanding: Transforming Vocabulary Instruction in Science



This session explores how to teach vocabulary in science in ways that align with NGSS and support deeper student understanding. Teachers will examine why frontloading vocabulary can limit learning and experience strategies that embed vocabulary within student sensemaking. Participants will apply these ideas by re-designing a lesson to better support scientific thinking and language development.
