SCSC - Back to School Workshop



The 2026 Back to School Nurse Workshop will provide practical guidance on recognizing and understanding exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction (EILO) in young athletes, an in-depth look at immunization trends in Arkansas, and school nurse updates and results from the 2025-2026 School Health Survey. This activity has been submitted to VTL Center for Professional Development for approval to award contact hours. VTL Center for Professional Development is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
This activity will provide 3.75 nursing continuing professional development hours. In order to obtain nursing contact hours, you must attend the entire activity and complete the evaluation. This activity is being jointly provided by the Arkansas Department of Education and the Arkansas Department of Health.

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium, the fee has been waived. If you are not part of the SCSC PD Consortium, you may be charged a minimum of $40 per day for any training even if the fee listed is zero.  Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any training.
