SCSC - School Mandated Screenings Training for Vision, Hearing, Scoliosis and BMI.



A workshop to train School Nurses to conduct School Mandated Screenings. By law, a School Nurse must be trained in the areas of Vision, Hearing, Scoliosis and BMI (Body Mass Index) before conducting screenings in the school setting. All School Mandated Screening trainings will be offered in-person at Education Cooperatives throughout Arkansas. You must attend the in-person training and pass the Knowledge Check with 80% or better to pass the course. School Nurses that have not attended a training session are not allowed to conduct screenings in the school setting. For vision and hearing, you MUST bring your machines to use during the Skills check-off.

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium, the fee has been waived. If you are not part of the SCSC PD Consortium, you may be charged a minimum of $40 per day for any training even if the fee listed is zero.  Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any training.
