SCSC-JET ONE DAY TRAINING



Registration is only open for those trained in the two year Take Flight Program. Jet is a curriculum written by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders. It is a one-year, fast-paced dyslexia intervention intended to meet the needs of older students identified with dyslexia. Jet contains the five components of effective reading instruction identified by research from the National Reading Panel. 
Jet is designed for:
• Students thirteen years of age and older
• Small group instruction with no more than 6 students in a group
• Ideally, five days a week for forty-five minutes or four days a week for sixty
minutes
• Certified teachers
Jet Kit must be purchased directly from Scottish Rite and will be needed for
training session. Cost of Jet kit: $485 (student workbooks will need to be
purchased once groups are started).

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium, the fee has been waived. If you are not part of the SCSC PD Consortium, you may be charged a minimum of $40 per day for any training even if the fee listed is zero.  Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any training.
