OUR Collaborative Assessment Building in ATLAS: Leveraging Assessment Resources

Designed specifically for 7th Grade, 8th Grade, and Biology teachers, this hands-on workshop equips educators to navigate
and master the Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System (ATLAS) Classroom Tool. The primary focus of this session is to build collaborative workgroups across educators so you can "divide and conquer" assessment creation. Together, we will transform OpenSciEd assessments into native ATLAS-style items designed to evaluate student mastery by standard.
What You Will Do & Gain:
Demystify the ATLAS Classroom Tool: Explore dashboard navigation, item templates, test generation wizards, and test administration tools.
Convert OpenSciEd to ATLAS: Learn how to translate OpenSciEd tasks into high-quality ATLAS item types aligned directly to standards.
Hands-on Creation: Draft, format, and enter test items directly into the ATLAS item builder, adding rich media like images, graphs, or videos.
Build & Operationalize Tests: Practice generating custom assessments using both automated wizards and your own created items.
Establish Workgroups: Form cross-classroom and district workgroups in ATLAS to share item banks, lighten the workload, and foster ongoing collaboration
Bring your laptop/device and your assessment materials/units you plan to use in school this year. We will focus on pulling
OpenSciEdassessment materials and converting them to ATLAS items.
