Book Study: Thrivers (Virtual)

Kids are pushed to achieve more, do more, and be more, but we are modeling the wrong traits like rule-following and caution.  This creates a “Striver” mindset not only making kids unhappy but creating a mindset opposite of what it takes to thrive in an uncertain world.  Thrivers, however, flourish in our fast-paced, digital-driven, often uncertain world.  Seven character traits set Thrivers apart – confidence, empathy, self-control, integrity, curiosity, perseverance, and optimism.  In Thrivers, Michele Borba, Ed.D. offers practical, actionable ways to develop these traits in children from preschool through high school, showing how to teach kids to cope today so they can thrive tomorrow.

Participants must purchase “Thrivers” by Michele Borba, Ed.D. (ISBN-10: 0593085299, ISBN-13: 978-0593085295) before the first session.
