Looking for Ideas? HGSS Assessment Field Test 2021-2022

KSDE is field testing the History, Government, and Social Studies (HGSS) assessment during the 2021-2022 school year and this session will help you develop ideas and turn them in to a curriculum based assessment for your classroom. This curriculum-based measure is to be field tested in grades 4,7, and 11 this year and scores will be reported via the KIDS EOYA reporting at the end of the school year. So you have all year to work on this with your students. Since it is a CBM, it can be part of your normal course work.  In this session we will discuss how to develop a compelling question; connect the assessment to HGSS standards and course content; use the rubrics to plan, implement, and provide feedback on the CBM; and manage the CBM process. This will be an interactive session with time for you to work on and develop your ideas.

Important Session Information:

Please bring a computer and a copy of the HGSS Standards, either in print form or an electronic version on your computer. Plan to leave the training with a draft assessment to use with your students!

NOTE AT THE CURRENT TIME MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL SHESC EVENTS. Please bring a mask, masks will not be provided.
