Linking Learning Targets (Daily Objectives) to Checks for Understanding
Share
Come prepared in this session to learn how to develop student-friendly learning targets (or daily objectives) and how to use a variety of methods for checking understanding - assessing progress on the learning targets. The heart of every lesson should be a learning target tied to standards and the content and skills we are teaching. These targets need to be clear to students and then used by the teacher and student throughout the lesson to help students know what they learning and how well they are doing in learning that content and/or skill. If learning targets are clear to both students and teachers then it is easier to check for understanding and then adapt lessons as needed to ensure student success.
