Culturally Responsive Teaching: Curriculum Done with Care





This workshop will engage participants in a culturally responsive examination of critical-thinking inspired practices such as using textual evidence, source integration, questioning, historical fiction, assessment design, and differentiation among others. By applying the lens of cultural responsiveness, all students can access important learning goals and content.

Important Session Information:


Day 1: Experience a common-core aligned curriculum for Holocaust education as a springboard for more universal study of culturally responsive teaching.

Day 2: Explore culturally responsive teaching practices.
 
Objective:  Identify opportunities to apply culturally responsive practices to instruction and assessments for new standards.


This is a two-pronged event. Participants attend a session at The Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education: 8401 Montgomery Road Cincinnati, OH  45236 the evening of November 9 that will be paired with an event the following day at the Fitton Center:  101 S. Monument Ave. Hamilton, OH  45011 on November 10.

Participants need to attend any Echoes and Reflections training to be eligible to attend the November 10 event.
