Gifted Cinema Club: Lights, Camera, Learn!
- Audience: Classroom teachers, gifted intervention specialists, gifted teachers, gifted coordinators, elementary teachers, middle school teachers, honors teachers, AP teachers, high school teachers, and more!

Participants will:

explore the social and emotional needs of students who are gifted and to address the impact of those needs on student learning.
identify and respond to characteristics and needs of students from traditionally underrepresented populations who are gifted and create safe and culturally responsive learning environments.
investigate & discuss current gifted education research around STEM/STEAM and underrepresented populations.

Lights, Camera, Learn is an innovative professional development opportunity for educators to learn about the unique characteristics, needs, and necessary supports of gifted learners.

Join us for our feature film, Hidden Figures. Hidden Figures tells the inspiring story of a group of African-American women who worked with NASA to help launch the program's first successful space missions.

This session will feature the film, a follow-up discussion, and a professional learning session regarding underrepresented populations that aligns with the ODE gifted professional learning competencies.
