Treats, Not Tricks:  Reading and Writing Strategies for MS and HS Math Classrooms

- Audience:  Middle School and High School Math Teachers


Participants will:

  • develop strategies for students to make sense of problems before they attempt to solve.
  • learn how close reading can be applied to math texts for deeper understanding.
  • explore how writing can be used to deepen students' mathematical reasoning abilities.

Join math consultant Mike Ross and ELA consultant Jason Haap for a creative workshop on how to integrate more reading and writing strategies into a math classroom. We will review theory then jump right into practice, sharing creative solutions while networking with like-minded educators.
