Teacher Coaching and Feedback Cohort 1

- K-12 principals and assistant principals, instructional coaches, central office administrators




  • Learn and practice coaching and feedback and strategies.
  • Identify areas of focus for classroom visits, for example, OTES rubric, gradual release, school initiatives, etc.
  • Visit classrooms to observe teachers and provide feedback based on focus areas.
  • Dialogue with colleagues to discuss feedback and coaching strategies and to apply a common language of instruction.

Important Session Information:


The Teacher Coaching and Feedback Cohort 1 is a professional learning experience that builds instructional leadership capacity for administrators and instructional coaches. Cohort members will observe, learn and practice feedback and coaching strategies from the text, 7 Tools for Developing Teachers and Teaching (Mike Rutherford.) Focus areas for feedback and coaching will include the OTES rubric, district specific goals, and school-wide initiatives. The overall purpose is to develop the coaching and feedback skills of administrators and instructional coaches to improve the instructional skills and techniques of their teachers leading to increased student achievement.
