  • Understand and apply the sensory integration theory to clinical practice for effective intervention in a school-based environment.
  • Explore the sensory systems and the theoretical neurological basis of sensory processing as related to sensory integration patterns of dysfunction.
  • Integrate accurate and acceptable sensory integration terminology into clinical practice as appropriate and related to the educational setting. 
  • Identify and discuss common perceptual and motor assessments utilized in school-based practice as related to sensory integration. 
  • Learn how to plan effective therapeutic treatments utilizing the theoretical foundations of sensory integration to help the child with participation and functional tasks within the educational context.
