Working with students with challenging behavior requires an understanding of how and what behavior is trying to communicate. This training provides key foundational knowledge based in the principles of applied behavior analysis to better understand student behavior and student needs. Through this 8-week hybrid training, participants will complete self-paced modules as well as bi-weekly discussion groups covering items from the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) task list (2nd edition) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Participants will learn how to support students with challenging behavior in various settings, including the importance of data collection and behavior programing. Upon completion, participants may purchase time to complete the competency assessment for an additional fee.
Links to the self-paced video modules as well as weekly discussions will be emailed to the participants.
This training program is based on the RBT Task List and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for RBT certification. The program is offered independent of the BACB.
