Bringing the Science of Reading to Life in Secondary Classrooms

- Audience:  Middle and High School Content Area Teachers, Instructional Coaches and Literacy Specialists, Department Chairs and Curriculum Leads, Intervention Specialists, Administrators and Instructional Leaders




  • Understand key principles of the Science of Reading as they apply to adolescent learners.
  • Explore how Science of Reading practices can be integrated across content areas.
  • Engage in collaborative planning to embed SoR-aligned strategies into middle and high school instruction.

Important Session Information:


This dynamic 3.5-hour session dives into the Science of Reading through the lens of adolescent learners. Discover how SoR principles apply beyond ELA and into every content area. Participants will walk away with practical, classroom-ready strategies and engage in collaborative planning to embed SoR-aligned practices into their instruction. Whether the teacher is new to SoR or ready to deepen their implementation, this session will equip and energize participants to make literacy a shared responsibility.

Participants can earn Ashland credit as well as CEUs and contact hours.
