Add+VantageMR: Course 1
Priority registration will be given to SFSD 1st year Elementary teachers

Add+Vantage Math Recovery© Course 1 (AVMR 1) is professional development in children’s development of early number concepts in the areas of Addition & Subtraction, Structuring, and Number Words and Numerals. Content in the updated, 4-day course can help improve instruction to meet the demands of Common Core and allows educators to know exactly where students are in their mathematical development and apply necessary short-term intervention strategies. AVMR Course 1 incorporates dynamic diagnostic assessment and instruction to analyze student thinking. The goals of AVMR 1 are to help teachers identify current levels of understanding for their students in regard to Addition & Subtraction, Structuring, and Number Words and Numerals, to provide you with a bank of research-based activities, and to support you in using the resources you currently have in an informed manner. Teachers will receive a resource package including assessment kits, teacher handbook, exemplary teaching tools, games, and resources to support student learning in early numeracy that will help build student confidence and help students attain success in mathematics and other curriculum areas.
