Unleashing the Power of Reading
** For Rosa Parks Staff Only! **


Research shows that reading workshop induces a love of books by allowing students to select their own. It also improves reading skills because it meets each individual student at his or her own level and builds upon that. Most importantly, it gets students reading. Participants will walk away with step by step instructions on implementation of reading workshop, planned mini lessons, and intervention activities.
Important Session Information:

REGISTRATION FEE: Rosa Parks funds will be used to pay the SFSD registration fee for Rosa Park Staff.

CECH/GRADUATE CREDIT: Participants may take this class for CECHs or participants may elect graduate credit from Augustana or USF for a charge of $45. If taking the workshop for graduate credit from Augie, a check for $45 (made payable to "Augustana") for the college credit fee will be collected at the first class session. If taking the workshop for graduate credit from USF, you may register for credit online at the USF website following the first class session. Please remember that in order to take this class for graduate credit, you must be present at all scheduled class sessions as advertised (per Augie's/USF's policy). Failure to abide by this policy will result in an incomplete grade.
