Understanding Sheltered Instruction and the English Language Learner in Science, Support for Secondary Administrators





Assist your teachers in supporting English Language Learners by gaining knowledge of highly effective sheltered instruction components. Participants will explore characteristics of instruction designed to meet the needs of ELLs at all four levels of English Language proficiency. In addition, discuss with colleagues the positives and challenges with supporting teachers in providing linguistically accommodated instruction for ELLs in the science classroom. Administrators will walk away with a variety of tools to assess quality instruction for ELLs.
