Relational Practices Implemented Through School-Based Policing
Incorporating Restorative Practices





Real world implementation of restorative practices from a police perspective. Learn how two districts have scaled up implementation of restorative practices across different aspects of students' daily lives on campuses and districts. Chief Kimberly and Chief Runnels have helped their districts incorporate restorative practices through Leadership and Heroes Academy with counselors, for critical incidences such as Harvey, when reducing conflict on campuses, utilizing victims impact panels, helping educators build community in classrooms, in Shattered Lives Shattered Dreams distracted/drunk driving events, as well as other school and community events. Hear from both a small and large district perspectives and how they began the process of exposing and growing their districts in the use of restorative practices. Experience interactive restorative practice activities, including conducting circles, used to engage students, parents, and staff in building positive relationships.
