2022 Summer Speaker Series: Inviting Writers into the Conventions of Writing
Patterns of Power: Inviting Writers into the Conventions of Language (Grades 1-5)





Explore ways to harness oral and written language conventions to purposefully activate meaning and analyze effect in both comprehension and composition. English and Spanish mentor texts will be used to teach grammar and conventions to improve writing and reading comprehension. Brain-based, practical ways to use the reading-writing connection to teach grammar and editing in a way that grows writers and readers will be included.
