Improving Achievement in Secondary ELAR Classrooms: A Guide for Teachers to Improve Equity Skills and Close Opportunity Gaps





This session will focus on identifying, addressing, and changing practices that contribute to equity and opportunity gaps in the secondary ELAR classroom. Teachers will be given specific strategies to develop and design classroom activities and practices that will lead to self-efficacy and an understanding of how to better meet the needs of all learners. This session will also provide ideas and suggestions for the implementation of strategic and intentional routines that focus on programmatic equity in the areas of reading and writing for the purpose of improved achievement for all student groups.
