This course will focus on PRC devices and is provided by a PRC representative. Participants will "explore the possibilities" for students with complex communication and access needs. This is a half day training set in a lab environment with a focus on providing participants hands-on experience with the various access methods available when using PRC devices. This training will include information from direct selection to eye gaze and include multiple selection methods within this continuum. Participants will explore how to get started quickly with eye gaze, head pointing, switches and touch access. They will also explore basic customization to meet students' needs through classroom tips and video examples along with guided practice and hands-on exploration. This training is appropriate for SLPs, OTs, ATPs, educators, family members, and others who support individuals who currently use or may need to use PRC devices.
Region 4 does not endorse one product over any other product as all devices should be individualized based on recommendations from current assessment and communication needs.
