Addressing Severe Behavior of Students on the Autism Spectrum





Join this session to learn methods for intervening with students on the autism spectrum who engage in severe behaviors. Nathan Call, Ph.D. BCBA-D, the director of clinical programs at the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta, Georgia, will discuss 1) the behavioral mechanisms that influence the occurrence and maintenance of problem behavior, and 2) methods that incorporate these mechanisms into the assessment and treatment of problem behaviors. Case examples will be used to illustrate the methods described. Sessions and materials are partially funded with state or federal grants.
