Go Figure: Using TEKS Figure 19 Cognitive Skills to Increase Reading Comprehension, Grades 3-5





Looking to engage your students while increasing their metacognition? This session will explore several strategies to improve student's comprehension by focusing on Figure 19 skills: setting a purpose for reading, questioning, monitoring and adjusting comprehension, making inferences, summarizing and making connections. Participants will examine strategies for designing and providing high quality instruction to increase student's level of critical thinking. Join us as we explore a hands-on approach to instruction.
