School counselors have a duty to provide every student with the academic preparation, planning, inspiration, and social capital to graduate from high school ready for college and careers. College and career awareness begins in elementary school, and continues throughout junior high and high school; this includes the need for counselors to work collaboratively with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
This workshop is designed for all-level school counselors to:
- learn about the different aspects of CTE and how they play an important role in House Bill 5, graduation requirements and endorsements.
- gain a clearer understanding of the various components and requirements of a CTE program and how it benefits students to outline an effective path toward creating a college-bound culture.
Upon conclusion of this session, participants will be able to identify specific initiatives that promote the school wide creation of a college and career-ready culture.
