Assessing and Evaluating School Bus Driver Records





Texas Transportation Code 521.022, Restrictions on Operators of Certain School Buses, requires each employer, at least once every twelve months to review the driving record of each school bus driver it employs to determine whether that school bus driver meets minimum requirements according to the School Bus Driver's Driving Record Evaluation. In determining a person's eligibility to drive a school bus, any person who has accumulated ten or more penalty points shall be considered ineligible to transport students until such time as he/she may become qualified. This course is designed to teach a person how to request the driving record from the Department of Public Safety, including what to look for on the record and how to score points according to the Penalty Point System.

To receive credit for TAPT Professional Certification please forward your certificate of completion of the Transportation #27.5 Assessing & Evaluating Driver Records course and $25 to Marisa Weisinger at the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation, PO Box 488, Kemah, Texas 77565.
