Introducing the Speech Perception Instructional Curriculum and Evaluation (SPICE)
SPICE Training

Developed by the Central Institute for the Deaf (CID), SPICE is a curriculum designed to address  auditory skill development.  According to the CID, SPICE is designed to help you:

  • evaluate a student’s speech perception abilities
  • plan auditory skills instruction
  • measure and record student progress and
  • report to parents and other professionals.

Participants will review items within their SPICE kits and learn how to implement the curriculum so that they can develop auditory skills with children aged 2-12 with cochlear implants and/or hearing aids.
