This highly interactive course focuses on how to divide multisyllabic words into individual syllables to simplify reading and spelling. Participants will learn and apply syllable division strategies to break down larger words. Additionally, participants will explore the meaning units of words (morphology), including Anglo-Saxon, Latin, and Greek affixes, base words, and roots, to bolster vocabulary knowledge.
The class is offered over two days utilizing an asynchronous format. The schedule is as follows:
- November 6th - Self-paced independent learning (2 hours) completed prior to November 9th session
- November 9th - Live virtual session (4 pm-6 pm)
- November 10th - Live virtual session (4 pm-6 pm)
Participants must complete all sessions in order to earn a certificate of completion.
