Oral Language and Emergent Literacy Development in Prekindergarten





Developing oral language and communication skills in preschool creates a foundation for later success in reading and writing. In this session, we will discuss oral language development stages, alignment to prekindergarten guidelines, and how to intentionally plan and assess oral language development in the preschool classroom.

Oral language development has been considered one of the predictors of literacy success in students.
During this session, we will share developmentally appropriate activities and strategies to support oral language and communication skills in preschool children.

All costs and fees are covered using RECESS Initiative 1 funds.
