The Special Education Self-Assessment is one of the tools within the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Differentiated Monitoring and Support (DMS). The DMS Self-Assessment supports the Local Education Agency (LEA) in reviewing federal and state compliance and assist LEAs in preparing a Strategic Support Plan for continuous improvement and resolving specific issues or concerns that impact services and outcomes for students with disabilities. Participants will receive an overview of DMS and the activities LEAs will engage in during the time of cyclical review. This training is intended for Special Education director appointed teams for the purpose of completing the DMS Special Education Self-Assessment. Session and materials costs partially funded by state and federal grants.
