Learn how to individualize physical education instruction
for students with the most severe disabilities. Section 300.108 of the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act (IDEA) requires that every student receive physical education,
specially designed, if necessary. This presentation will focus on delivering
individualized and appropriate instruction to students with severe, profound,
and multiple disabilities. It will provide insight on the process from
determining eligibility, developing the individualized education program (IEP),
implementation of the IEP, monitoring goals and objectives, and delivering
instructional content. The presentation will also address the importance of
collaboration and integrating a transdisciplinary model. Sessions and materials
are partially funded through state or federal grants.
