The 86th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 3, which established the requirement that all teacher candidates wishing to teach PreK-6th demonstrate proficiency in the science of teaching reading, and from that, The Science of Teaching Reading exam (STR 293) was created. If you're looking for support in preparing for this exam, this two-part virtual course can help!
This six hour course will provide an overview of the content from all four domains (Reading Pedagogy, Reading Development: Foundational Skills, Reading Development: Comprehension, and Analysis and Response), which we will apply to sample test questions. Attendance at both sessions is required for credit.
