There is an increasing number of culturally and linguistically diverse students who are English Language Learners (ELLs) in America’s schools; many of these children come from backgrounds of poverty. Professionals frequently experience challenges with differentiating language differences from language impairments in ELL students who are struggling in school. This workshop addresses nonbiased assessment strategies and materials that can be used to differentiate language differences from language impairments in ELL students from any linguistic background.
TSHA CE hours for speech-language pathologists are available for those that register through Region 4 ESC, access the ZOOM link, and attend the entire session. During the session, the ID code will be shared with participants in order to obtain their TSHA certificate of attendance. A Region 4 certificate of attendance will be provided via email once attendance has been verified.
This session is partially funded by state and federal grants.
