This workshop focuses on practical strategies and materials for clinicians who serve ELLs (English Language Learners) with language impairments. The information will help clinicians who serve preschool and elementary students from any cultural-linguistic background. Participants will receive easy-to-implement, fun, effective ideas for helping ELL students who are learning English as well as coping with language impairments. The session will focus on increasing oral and written language skills and on collaborating with classroom teachers. Relating IEP benchmarks and therapy goals to Common Core State Standards will be reviewed.
This webinar is provided through a partnership of the 20 Educational Service Centers (ESC), led by Region 10 ESC. TSHA CE hours will be available for SLPs that register, access the webinar, and watch the webinar in its entirety. A code will be provided during the session in order to access TSHA and receive your CE hours. A Region 4 Certificate of Attendance will be provided via email.
