Ethical Practices: A Guide to SLP Responsibilities When Training and Using Interpreters (OnDemand)

Evaluating and treating students and clients with limited English proficiency can be challenging for the Speech-Language Pathologist – particularly when the SLP does not speak their native language. This two hour online course presented by Rebecca Gonzalez, M.S., CCC-SLP will provide participants with the legal and ethical guidelines for training and using interpreters to evaluate and treat speech and language disorders. This course will include information regarding 2006 IDEA Part B Final Regulations as well as the National and State Association guidelines on cultural and linguistic diversity. This training is recommended for Speech-Language Pathologists, Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, district administrators, and bilingual interpreters.
