Dance the Texas Two-Step: Partnering Math and Literacy in Prekindergarten (Virtual)
Early Literacy. Emergent Math, Prekindergarten





Spark curiosity and wonder in your classroom by using books, songs, and finger plays to bring literacy and math skills to life. By connecting these skills to student imagination, as well as, real life scenarios in dramatic play, blocks, and literacy centers, students can make sense of the mathematical skills of numeracy and problem solving while developing oral language and early literacy skills. Participants will leave this session with strategies to partner math with literacy to effectively teach all students using the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.

Participants will receive a link from Zoom.us to register for the Dance the Texas Two Step: Partnering Math and Literacy course approximately 24 hours before the event. After registration, they will be sent a link to join the Zoom class. The Zoom waiting room will be open for entry into the course 15 minutes before the start time.
