Circle-Up is a virtual training of trainers designed for participants to utilize the content to train their own district or charter school staff members. This professional development requires pre-work to be completed prior to the Zoom session. Circle-Up will provide a comprehensive look at the use of "affective statements" and circles as a part of restorative discipline practices. The session includes defining key features of different types of circles, participating in and experiencing a variety of circles, practicing facilitation of different types of circles, identifying ways to evaluate the fidelity of the use of circles, and identifying implementation strategies that will facilitate an effective implementation of different types of circles.
Participants will be required to attend Part 1 and Part 2 to receive credit. Participants will have priority for placement to secure one of the two days available for their session.
Participants will use:
- Part 1 Nearpod asynchronous learning
- Part 2 Zoom one day for virtual for circle practices, lesson planning and implementation strategies.
