Virtual Circle-Up: Restorative Practice Building Relationships is a virtual session for educators who are interested in establishing relationships with their students. Circle-Up will provide a comprehensive look at the use of "affective statements", community circles, and restorative chats as a part of restorative discipline practices. The session includes defining key features of a community circle, participating in and experiencing a community circle, practicing facilitation of a circle, identifying ways to evaluate the fidelity of the use of a community circle, and identifying implementation strategies that will facilitate effective implementation.
Participants will be required to attend Part 1 and Part 2 to receive credit. Participants will have priority for placement to secure one of the two days available for their session.
Participants will use:
- Part 1 Nearpod asynchronous learning
- Part 2 Zoom one half day for virtual for circle practices, lesson planning and implementation strategies.
