Supporting Diverse Learners to Increase Academic Engagement Series: Teach Cognitive and Metacognitive Strategies to Support Learning and Independence





Are you looking to enrich Tier 1 instruction? Is your classroom full of variability with diverse students who need differentiated support?  You don’t have to do it all alone! Join us as we explore high-leverage instructional practices to increase academic engagement, a top 5 best practices for classroom management.  In this session, participants will explore the high-leverage practice of teaching cognitive and metacognitive strategies to support learning and independence. Cognitive and metacognitive strategies support memory, attention, and self-regulation of learning. Learn how cognitive and metacognitive strategies increase student engagement, reduce disruptions, and help students monitor and evaluate their own learning. Participants will leave with ideas and examples that can be implemented immediately in the classroom.


*Note - Each session of the Supporting Diverse Learners to Increase Academic Engagement Series can be selected individually. You can choose to participate in one, two, or all sessions of the series, and you can attend in any order.
