Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is a term used to describe an evidence-based model using data-based problem-solving to integrate academic, behavioral, social-emotional, mental health, and school safety frameworks interventions and instruction delivered to students in tiered intensities. Examples of MTSS include Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), Response to Intervention (RtI), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF), and the Safe and Successful Schools Framework.
This session will give district coordinators or leaders an overview of the District Leadership Team's (DLT) core work and responsibilities in implementing MTSS. See how the DLT assesses current district systems, practices, and data utilizing the District Systems Fidelity Inventory (DSFI). Align this work with other district initiatives and develop action plans by identifying district priorities. Determine how to establish a functioning DLT through Leadership Teaming with common language and understanding to address their executive and implementation functions, allowing them to build capacity and support campus implementation.
