A Counselor’s Guide to Supporting Gifted Students - Online
Summer 2025





Engage in activities designed to bring clarity to the definition of giftedness, the unique needs of gifted learners, and the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.

Leave with the knowledge and tools to

  • Assist in the recognition of the nature and needs of gifted students;
  • Understand the social emotional development and needs of gifted students; 
  • Approach proportional identification of students based on campus demographics;
  • Understand the importance of the family-school partnerships and gifted services; and
  • Understand the connection between the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students and the identification process along with available service options.

This professional learning opportunity fulfills the Counselor requirement outlined in the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.

This is a facilitated, self-paced online course.
