Designing STEM Professional Development: Empowering Adult Learners

Are you seeking new, engaging strategies to design professional development that puts participants at the center of their learning? In this interactive working session, we’ll explore how to create impactful STEM professional learning experiences grounded in best practices from adult learning theory and the unique demands of STEM education.

Participants will examine how to design PD sessions that foster active engagement, meaningful reflection, and hands-on application of knowledge, skills, and mindsets. You’ll have dedicated time to revise an existing STEM-focused session or create a new one that promotes educator ownership, collaboration, and authentic classroom transfer. Walk away with practical tools, and a reimagined PD session that empowers STEM educators to immediately apply the learning in their STEM classrooms.
