Assessing for Developmental Delay in Texas is new for evaluation personnel. During this workshop, learners will recognize different stages of developmental milestones to enhance the interpretation of evaluation results regardless of student’s age to properly identify a Developmental Delay. Participants will learn how administering the Developmental Profile-Fourth Edition (DP-4) aligns with this new eligibility category in Texas. Participants will learn the different administration methods of the DP-4, whether by interview, checklist, or rating scale to assess the development and functioning of individuals from birth through age 21 years, 11 months.
Using case studies, participants will leave the workshop knowing how the DP-4 can be used effectively in a variety of settings to provide a detailed, individualized account of a child’s developmental strengths and weaknesses while simultaneously identifying developmental delay. This session is appropriate for school psychologists, educational diagnosticians, speech language pathologists, and occupational/physical therapists.
